Many people think the number of communities in California that permit the sale and use of state-approved fireworks is shrinking. Quite the contrary!
Without taking into consideration all of the communities that have reaffirmed at the ballot box their desire to continue to permit the sale and use of state-approved fireworks, the trend is the exact opposite. Since 1993 there have been 55 communities and 1 county that have decided to reverse, by City Council action, their longstanding prohibition against these backyard, family celebrations of our nation's birthday. This brings the total number of communities to 296. (TNT Fireworks 2024).
